youtube_YouTube is going to present a chargeable subscription. Due to it users will be able to watch movies and TV shows. The goal of such subscription is to attract premium content to the site.

According to David Eun, Google’s vice president of content partnerships, the subscriptions should first of all suit providers of full-length content.

Google receives its income from its video site by means of advertising and offering short clips.

Not so long ago YouTub signed an agreement with Channel 4 according to which Cahnnel would offer shows known as Skins, Hollyoaks and Peep Show and after the year of the agreement the companies will be able to sell advertising around the content.

Similar contract was signed between broadcast Five and YouTube in December, according to which the site is able to display short-form content of such partners as CNN and TNT, ESPN and ABC.

According to Eun, advertising revenues will be considered as the main part of YouTube’s business model. He also said that if the company would draw its attention only towards advertising model, it should be enough to get significant revenue.
