Twitter is going to release a range of tools due to which it will be possible for the third party websites to build Twitter features in. Such action is regarded as the response of the company to the popular Facebook Connect.
Facebook Connect was first introduced in May 2008 and at the same time similar projects were released by Google and MySpace
In 2008 Facebook Connect became available. Nowadays according to the reports made by Facebook, more than 80,000 websites installed Facebook Connect, moreover about 60 million Facebook users are using Facebook connect on these third party websites each month.
Facebook Connect is especially popular among smaller sites as it is easy to implement. A range of widgets were created due to which one can take Facebook features to third party sites. You should not worry about the integration as it is very easy.
For the last year the company launched buttons with the help of which users on third party sites could only sign in to Twitter as well as identify themselves.
