According to recent reports, Twitter is loosing its popularity, but still it might ne not accurate. One should note that users of the micro-blogging social network posts more messages than ever, about 50 million 140 character-long messages daily.
Moreover, the social network is growing and a lot of users join it. Twitter has a phenomenal evolution. When it was launched in 2007, one could note only 5,000 tweets per day, by 2008 the number increased to 300,000.
The number of tweets augmented up to 2.5 million per day by 2009 and later up to 35 million per day and by the end of the year there was a growth of 1,400 percent. Another growth of Twitter was noticed in January 2010, i.e. 50 million tweets per day.
This statistics does not involve spam accounts and nothing was said about the geographical spread. Also the company did not say anything about the exact number of users. But according to aonScore estimates, the service has 75 million unique visitors around the world.
But still the company offers a revenue model for the services despite its popularity.
