The all new HD2 mobile by HTC

New Delhi: If you think the mobile phone with large screens is not going to get any bigger, think again. HTC has launched the largest ever screen phone by far called HD2 in India.

Based on Windows Mobile, the mighty HD2 has a 4.3 inch screen with a 480 X 800 WVGA resolution. It has a capacitive touch screen, instead of the usually seen resistive one on WM powered handsets.

This might screen phone HD2 can be yours at a price of Rs. 36,990 in India except Maharashtra, where the price is Rs. 39,990. Tata DoCoMo subscribers can browse internet and download 500MB of data per month free for 6 months in a scheme announced by the service provider.

The device features a 512 MB ROM and 448MB of RAM. Equipped with the latest version of Windows Mobile 6.5 and is 3G capability, the phone also features a 5-megapixel camera with auto focus and dual LED flash along with a 3.5mm jack. Users can stay connected with the social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter.

The HD2 also sports the Sense UI that was first seen ion the Android based HTC Hero. The phone boasts of a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor that runs at an incredible 1 GHz.

The mobile is new. Unfortunately, the operating system software that it runs is very old… Microsoft’s Windows Mobile. It comes from the Pocket PC era of the 1990s, and has not changed much since.

HTC is reducing the number of Windows Mobile phones it makes, and switching to Google’s Android operating system. Look out for the HTC Passion to be released in January, running Android.
