It became known that over 25 million Steam accounts were created among which 10 million are taken away with customizable profiles. One can say that there are a lot of hardcore PC gamers, you just have to know where to look.

As a result, Steam’s overall sales increased 205 percent in 2009. But still there are no concrete numbers.

According to Valve’s Gabe Newell, Steam is available during 5 years. Due to the releases of each new platform like the Steam Community, Steam Cloud, and Steamworks, one can observe increase in account numbers, developer support for the platform as well as concurrent player numbers.

It is pertinent to say that without Steam, PC gaming might parch up or users could use only Games For Windows Live.

Without Steam, PC Gaming would be ruined and Microsoft wouldn’t really do anything to help it.
