Almost everyone knows that Federal Communications Commission was going to offer broadband internet connection for every US household.
According to statistics, in the year of 2000 about 8 million houses were equipped with Broadband connection, but at present the number is different, last year it amounted to 200v million.
Information Administration together with National Telecommunications showcased the statistics concerning the current broadband coverage. About 64% of USA households are enabled with broadband internet connection. In fact this figure is considered to be better compared to the figure of 2 years ago, 54% of Americans were provided with high speed internet connection. Having 64% USA is behind United Kingdom that has 67%, Canada 76%, and South Korea 95%.
But still 38% of people remain to be without broadband internet as they do not need internet connection. It turned out that just 3,6% of people are unable to have high speed internet connection. The reason is explained by the fact that their location is not supported by the broadband. We will see how Federal Communications Commission will be able to solve this very problem.
