According to Sony Corp., the company is planning to move its television business to “attack” mode in the coming fiscal year, i.e. it is going to push its 3-D models despite the fact that it will be on the set of its rivals.
The company is going to launch its 3-D television models in June. In fact, the company decided to draw its attention towards restructuring its electronics business that can be done with the help of lowering overhead costs. The company considers that 3-D technology will be a future driver of growth and it will be able to unite almost each part of the sprawling company.
The new 3-D televisions are significant for the television business of Sony. It is expected that the TV operations will lose money in the current fiscal year that will end on March 31. But despite this fact the company believes the 3-D interest will become a stimulus to new demand.
Nowadays global television producers are releasing 3-D models in order to get benefits over 3-D movies in cinemas as well as upcoming launch of 3-D video games. Of course, the 3-D televisions were offered in the past, but the present-day models are available with battery-powered glasses that create the illusion of high-definition 3-D.
