Google voice has come up with an additional feature as a solution to its users who want to make outbound calls using Skype but have an obligation about the recipients getting Skype number on their Caller ID. Earlier the way out for this was to go to Google voice from the web & dial from there but it was inconvenient.
The new feature enables the users to have their recipients see their Google Voice number on their Caller ID. For setting your Google voice number as your Skype Caller ID, you need to have an account with Skype (which is free), then you need to download Skype software.
Next is going to Skype features page & signing up to make outgoing calls. Then you are required to go to the accounts page & set the number you want to use as your caller ID, Skype will give a sms verification & will provide you with the activation in 24hours time.
Google also offers its own Skype, to receive Google Voice calls through Skype called Gizmo. You can use an alternative for taking your Skype number also. Just forward your Google voice calls to Gizmo & your Gizmo calls to Skype.
