Nintendo and Microsoft: Sony’s PlayStaion 3 motion controller will be released a bit later until the fall of 2009.
The price of the controller was not announced. Sony released the motion technology in June 2009 but the company decided to ship the device in the spring of 2010.
According to Sony, users will have to use the PlayStation Eye camera in order the Motion Controller is able to work on PS3, but it means that users will have to purchase both devices. The controller is able to identify the natural and intuitive movement of the hand and reflect the precise movement during the game, showing the whole new entertainment experience on PS3.
The Motion Controller will be as the “de facto” controller for the PlayStation 3. Kazuo Hirai, president and group chief executive of Sony Computer Entertainment Inc., said that the company decided to launch the Motion Controller in fall 2010 that would show a new entertainment experience to PS3 users.
Motion is responsible for an on-screen game that was first offered by the Initendo Wii and then later the Apple iPhone and iPod touch as well as a range of other handheld platforms adopted it. The Wii combined a sensor bar and gyroscope in order to identify movements. The company released a MotionPlus add-on in April.
Later the attention of many users was drawn by Microsoft that offered Project Natal, it is a motion-sensing technology. A camera is used in Natal to detect the natural motion of a user. It was promised by the company that the technology would be shipped in 2010.
