xbox-360Researchers at the University of Warwick have solved complex equations and obtained quick results for their research on heart defects with the use of Microsoft Xbox 360.
Researchers are making use of the Microsoft’s flagship console in order to solve hefty puzzles and the mystery involved in the “parallel processing” technique wherein processors are used to come out with quick results from the study.

The graphics chip was modified by the research group so that it could help the scientific data at a faster rate and work at a lower cost as well.

“The process was designed to track how electrical signals in the heart moved around damaged cardiac cells”, says Dr Simon Scarle, head of the research at Warwick.

What an innovative use of a chip made for graphics gamers!
