Finally Intel launches the “Tukwila” version of its Itanium processor, at present it comes under the name of the Itanium 9300 series.

The new chips consist of 2 billion transistors that include the double number of cores.

They are able to run eight threads each and one can observe an 800 percent improvement found in interconnect bandwidth.

They boast of boosted memory bandwidth about 500 percent and also up to 700 percent more memory capacity.

According to Intel, the company provides a more aggressive roadmap if compare with its rivalries among which IBM that unveiled its POWER7 chip on Monday.
