It is still unclear whether the search giant is going to apply for an FCC television broadcast license as its application for a Department of Energy license was finally approved.

According to the Wall Street Journal and Reuters, Google together with Dish Network Corp joined their forces in order to create a new set top box experience that will be based on Google’s new Android software operating system.

Sam Diaz considered that it would be a good idea to combine linking web content together with traditional TV programming into a searchable database that would be used for viewing. As a result people would be able to view TV programming by means of the Internet, so they would not need satellite as well as cable systems.

But still viewers would have to look for a way in order to find not only programming but also they would have to search for new ones. Searching should be considered as one of those new ways that would help discovering programming.

He also added that due to it users would be able to look for content from Dish and also websites like YouTube and also they would get the opportunity to personalize the lineup of shows.
