Tough Google’s Nexus One was launched just six months ago, it is surprising that it is now abandoning by the company so early. The critics say that the phone was doing well against the established smartphones like the Droid X, the EVO 4G and iPhone 4. What is more shocking is that Google’s phone was still quite popular with the users and its sales are great. These are the reasons that experts do not find a clue to the company’s decision to close its phone business.
Google has announced on it Nexus One blog that it has now received its last shipment of Nexus One from HTC. Clearly, once this lot of the pones is sold out on Nexus One website, the company will close the store and will no more sell the handset. But it has said that the phone will be available from its partner network service providers and select countries.
But it is still not clear if the Google has also decided to put complete halt to the phone’s production. The company has already emphasized that it will not produce Nexus Two. Google has admitted that Nexus One was a great success and that is the reason that they did not want to build Nexus Two. One of the reason for closing of Nexus One is that it had to compete with its own partners like HTC, Motorola and Samsung.

Its too bad actually. The Nexus One is still a great phone and quite possibly the fastest phone so far with its JIT compiler.
