Google gears up for Facebook like searches

To give social networking site Facebook a tougher challenge, Google has announced that it has acquired Metaweb, the company with millions of data in almost every walk of life this data will be used to make the Google search pages even more useful for the people as per their preferences of topics.

In the Official Google Blog, Jack Menzel has written that the search engine has over time improved its search on our understanding of queries and web pages. He says that the web is not merely about words but more than that it’s about information about the things in the real world and it is about the understanding of relationships between real world entities and it helps us deliver information quickly.

He says that the company has acquired Metaweb that has maintained an open database of things across the world. He says that working together with the company will ensure improve search results and will make the web even richer and more meaningful for all users. Overall, it looks like Google is aiming at making its web search a perfect one so that the users do not have to go anywhere for information.
