Finally the search giant managed to detect that affected Google Apps’ Sync for Microsoft Outlook. Due to the prevention of some e-mails from being downloaded from Gmail servers to the Outlook program on end-users’ PCs, the bug was identified.

As a matter of fact, a lot of users did not know all their e-mail messages were replicated to Outlook, they could not respond on time to affected messages.

At present the affected users have to check their e-mail accounts periodically as it will help them know whether all inbound messages reached their Outlook application.

At present users can take advantage of a patch launched by Google to fix the problem. It is expected that it will be completed in the coming days. As the patch will be used only for Google’s Gmail servers there will be no use to take actions with Apps administrators.

On March 12 Google promised to fix the bug last year. It was identified that the bug was offered by means of a software upgrade earlier in March.

Apps Sync for Microsoft Outlook was launched in June 2009 which is considered to be a free Outlook plug-in. Due to it users of the Apps Premier and Education editions take advantage of Outlook as a front end to the server-side Gmail as well as Calendar components of the suite.
