With the help of EC2 users are able to keep bid on unused computing resources in order to save costs.

Amazon EC2, or Elastic Compute Cloud is an online service due to which a user is able to “lease” virtual machine instance. There is a big collection of virtual machine images among them AMI or Amazon Machine Images that has pre-configured operating systems.

The new Amazon EC2 Spot Instances option allows a user to determine a maximum bid price for EC2 instances which will be considered as the launched in case it is equivalent to your requested price.

Also the new EC2 spot instances service launched backup for streaming content with the help of Amazon CloudFront. They are based on an Adobe Flash Media Server that uses multimedia content through RTMP providing a better streaming experience. It backs up the FLV and MP4 formats of Flash with the VP6 and H.264 codecs as well as dynamic bit-rate streaming.

There is another new service, known as Amazon Virtual Private Clout. It enables the user to enlarge his enterprise network to Amazon EC2 machines. It links the user’s local network to his EC2 machines that utilizes VPN connection.
