It was decided by Amazon to launch free application that will be based on the Kindle software on a BlackBerry.

If you have the app, there is no need to use a Kindle, it simply synchronizes your last page read and annotations between devices. During this process the app uses ‘Whispersync’.

Due to is you are able to create bookmarks as well as view annotations created by you on your Kindle in past, furthermore, it will be possible to use your Kindle, PC and BlackBerry to get the same content of a Kindle e-book.

Unfortunately, you will not be able to view newspapers, magazines and blogs.

The app can be used on the BlackBerry Curve 8520 and 8900, Bold 9000 and 9700, Storm 9530/Storm2 9550 and the Tour 9630.

Also it is not available in Blighty yet. You have to register as having a US address on your Amazon.com account and only them the International Edition of Kindle will be able to run it.
