Despite the fact that Microsoft has boosted its share for the last recent month, it is still far behind its competitor Google.

In February the search giant had 70.95% share of the search market, it should be mentioned that Google managed to maintain its wide lead with search market share.

As for Microsoft, it was on the third place being behind Google and its new partner Yahoo. The company showed not bad results for the recent month.

According to Ezra Gottheil, an analyst with Technology Business Research, Bing is slow in gaining its market. Many users got used to utilize Google. Only some impetus is able to force users to choose another search engine.

But still it was noticed by Gottheil that being a relatively new product, Bing is doing well.

But if talk about Yahoo, one can observe a steady decline that has begun since last September. In January as well as February, Yahoo managed to hold firm at 14.57%, but then those numbers decreased from 16.38% six months ago.

For the past years Microsoft invested a lot of money as well as development resources in order to occupy some Google’s hefty share of the search market.

The deal signed with Yahoo can become very significant. The deal was approved by the U.S. Department of Justice and the European Commission last month. Because of the partnership, Yahoo has to offer premium search advertising services for both companies.
