YouTube made a step into the business of online movie rentals. But it does not mean that a user can stream the latest Hollywood blockbuster to his PC.

Google, the owner of YouTube, released its rental service that is available with five movies, all of them from independent filmmakers.

But if take Netfix, it offers to its users a big choice of films, moreover, most cable operators provide their customers large catalogs of film that are popular among users. But still it should be mentioned that more films will be available on YouTube, but a bit later.

It is important for YouTube to try the business of online movie rentals. Due to offering an eclectic collection of free video clips as well as advertising, YouTube thrived. Also the company provides some older, full-length movies that can be found on its site, furthermore, they are free of charge.

According to YouTube, it is going to add other content to the rental service very soon. Among the content one could find educational, health and fitness-related videos. Moreover, it is planned to start a program known as Filmmakers Wanted, due to this program many independent producers can make their films available to YouTube.
