Mozilla launched its first Firefox browser created for mobile phones. It comes under the name Fennec.

Firefox provides some interesting conceits for the Maemo 5 platform. Mozilla is aimed at uniqueness of its claim to fame–third-party, i.e. customizable browser extensions that will help win mobile market share. It order to show the importance of add-ons for Firefox’s mobile browser, Mozilla introduced its bookmark and history-syncing extension called Weave Sync 1.0 that can be used for desktop and mobile.

A mobile version of Firefox is a mixed version not only because Maemo is a platform. Only few people know that it is considered to be Nokia’s open-source, Linux-based Maemo operating system backs up mobile Firefox only on two devices, i.e. the N900 and the N810. Mozilla also pulled wholesale back-up for Adobe’s Flash plug-in referring as it is not so satisfied with the quality.

Also Mozilla launched an add-on known as YouTube enabler that can be downloaded in order to view YouTube videos. Moreover, the company is thinking to develop other solutions for those users who are wary of optionally installing the Flash plug-in, but they want to view select Flash-based content.
